Skipping Meals to Pay the Bills

Have you ever had to make the choice between paying your bills, getting your medicine, or buying groceries for your family? I truly hope you never have to make this choice, but there are those out there that have had to make that choice on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

A recent survey conducted in Arizona shows that out of the 1,400 food bank clients interviewed, 41 percent would or have made the choice to pay their bills over feeding themselves or their family.  Due to the price of rent, utilities and gas, food often becomes a luxury for people, even those who have jobs.

You can give people the extra help they need by donating to your local food bank. You don’t have to wait for a food drive, drop offs are welcome at any time of the year.
